I love how shop windows can catch your eye and draw you in by evoking a sense of expectation and anticipation of what could be beyond the shop doors.

I want to show you the ever changing Few and Far located on Old Brompton Road, down the street from Harrods.

I think my heart skipped a beat when peering into this window, as I am in the midst of putting together the final details of my first trip to India.

If I wasn't excited enough already, the intoxication of color and patterns shown in this window has me ready to get on the plane tomorrow.

On Saturday, I went to the Grand Opening of Selvedge on Archway Road, near Highgate tube. I was especially looking forward to visiting this store as it is located in my corner of London. I can actually take a walk up a tree covered path following an old train line almost the entire way from my place to the store.

Selvedge is the shop of Selvedge magazine, a 5 year old textile magazine, which highlights the current innovations and explorations within the world of textiles and I would definitely recommend perusing their website. The shop brings to life the materials, products, ethos of the magazine plus much more.

The opening boasted sales as well as adorable teeny cupcakes and the outside of the store decorated with balloons and bunting.

Botelet

Since moving to England three years ago, I have been hearing about the gorgeous coastline and countryside of Cornwall. My husband and I thought it might be too far and expensive for a long weekend.

Once we decided to still go ahead and make the 5 hour drive to Cornwall, we had the task of finding a place to stay. This took me on a google journey of searching lists and recommendations until I stumbled upon a Guardian list that included Botelet farmhouse B&B. Once I saw the photographs and read through the website I was hooked!

We had such a fantastic time relaxing in this gorgeous, picturesque farm. We were shown such hospitality by Julie who runs the B&B and enjoyed a delicious breakfast including espresso each morning. We even joined Julie's parents on Sunday morning at their small Methodist chapel.

We hope to be back again (soon I hope) along with a few friends to stay in one of the two self catering cottages.
