This past Sunday was Mothering Sunday here in England. It was awoken to the cards above from Adrian and Sammy (isn't Samuel's handwriting advanced:)). There was a family service at church which concluded with the children collecting flowers to give to their mummys. Samuel actually went up and picked his up this year! We also got to celebrate the day with my mother in law - a lovely day all around!

Happy early Mother's Day to all the American moms!

p.s. I may have hinted about the card Adrian got me- I just love the illustrations by Belle & Boo!

A stroll on the South Bank

I don't normally share photos I take for other people on this blog, but I just have to share these photos. I had the privilege recently to photograph this lovely couple on a beautiful day on the South Bank of the Thames. I have known Josephine for a while and it was wonderful to get to know Alistair. They were so much fun to work with as they were so relaxed in front of the camera and their love for one another is so evident! Enjoy...

Pizza

We have finally had success with a pizza dough recipe! It turned out so well that Adrian even compared it to his favorite Italian restaurant and he might have even said it was just as good! We used this recipe by Jamie Oliver and I highly recommend it. It made enough dough for 6 small pizzas so we were able to eat pizza 2 nights in a row. There were no complaints in this house!

On the first night we used the dough for garlic bread (no picture for that one unfortunately because it was eaten very quickly!) and 3 pizzas: 1) courgette/zucchini, prosciutto, mozzarella, 2) tomato, prosciutto, courgette/zucchini, mozzarella and rocket, 3) tomato, chili, and mozzarella. The first one was Adrian's favorite and mine were tied between the first and third. I think the first would have been my favorite if it had chili on it. Yummy!

Allotment!

We are now the proud owners of a space in an allotment just a few streets over from our house! I am so excited! It is the same space I posted photos from last summer. Basically our friends who used to have the space now have a flat with a back garden so they have passed it on to us!

Above is a BEFORE photo and hopefully I will be soon sharing some updated photos of what we have grown! Our plan is to mainly focus on various salad greens and herbs. More soon...

The most amazing playground!

The Princess Diana Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens is AMAZING! It is the most magical playground I have ever been to. There is something around every corner including sailboats in sand, a giant pirate ship, chimes that you step on, tee pees and much more. I highly recommend a visit to it (you just need to bring a kid along to get in:)).

Veggie tacos

One of the meals we have been enjoying recently is veggie tacos. They are super easy to make and you can change them up depending on what vegetables you have on hand. We made these ones with kidney beans, courgette/zucchini, and onions with rice on the side and mature cheddar on top. Very yummy!

Science Museum

We went to the Science Museum over the weekend and I was SO IMPRESSED! I had no idea that there would be activities for children Samuel's age, but there were and they were so good! There is an area in the basement called the Garden and it had a water play area (where we spent most of our time!), sensory play, climbing area, blocks, wheel barrels, musical instruments and much more. They said it was for 3 - 6 year olds, but Samuel (who is 1 and 1/2) was definitely able to play with much of what they had.

As you can see in the last picture, we ended the time in the bathroom as Samuel was SOAKED from the water play area. It was my second week in a row blow drying clothes in a bathroom:).
