The Diptych Project: two friends (once neighbors & now an ocean apart), one theme

Since we knew we were moving this month, we decided not to get a Christmas tree this year (so sad!), but I was able to put together our own little evergreen display. I put several branches in a vase and decorated the branches with a few favorite ornaments and a strand of lights. It is amazing how a strand of white lights just adds that touch of magic!
The picture above happened almost by chance. I was photographing the branches and then Samuel started investigating the lights. I of course only encouraged the exploring and viola this sweet moment happened. I love the innocence of this picture- the soft, young hands and the pure white light.
