The Diptych Project: two friends (once neighbors & now an ocean apart), one theme
Top photo: Evie, bottom photo: Ann

I think that Evie's photo this week is stunning!  There is something so serene and peaceful about the picture - I want to sit and look out of that window for hours.

By chance, the containers in both photos seem to hold art or crafts supplies.  Her containers look as if they are filled with sewing supplies and I think that I can make out a jar of buttons from a previous diptych.  The container in my photo has had multiple purposes since Samuel was born and has now taken up residence on the tray of his chalkboard, a cosy place to store the chalk.

I think containers make the practicalities of everything having a place in your home so much easier.  With children, it certainly makes the daily tidy up (or TI-DY Party as well like to chant!) so much quicker.  They can also create so much visual and architectural interest to shelves or a counter so I think it's worth finding the prettiest box or vessel you can find as you are more likely to put it somewhere more prominent which will hopefully make staying organized much easier!

Please visit Evie's blog to learn more about what inspired her photo.
You can see our previous diptychs here.
